Red Bull Racing - Project Sandman Tribute Edition
Presenting the Biante 1:18 resin Project Sandman Tribute Edition built by Red Bull Racing Australia.
2014 was the 40th anniversary of the Holden Sandman, a car that perfectly complemeneted the Australian beach lifestyle.
To celebrate it Triple Eight Racing Engineering made it their mission to to recreat that moment in history be reimaging the Sandman using the Holden VF Commodore Ute, the Project Sandman Tribute Edition was revealed at the 2014 Gold Coast 600.
Starting in 2014 888 working with GM Holden Design Department. On the outside it looked very much like the panel van it paid homage to right down to the pair of carbon fibre surfboards on the roof!
However under all the bodywork was a real, pure-bred racing machine. The Sandman exterior was one of 888's former cars; in fact, it was the chassis of the Holden Commodore VF that Jamie Whinup had racing the 8 vitories during the 2013 championship season!
